Schedule Changes: 2007-2008 OA school year

Changes were approved in the Owego Apalachin district schedule for 2007-08 by the Board of Education at its October 11 meeting.

One significant change approved by the board was to change two half days of instruction (with the second half designated for "staff development") to FULL days of instruction. Those days are Friday, October 26, and Friday, December 7.

Another change approved by the board is that Friday, November 16, will now be a half day for all students (K-12). Grades K-5 will continue with previously schedule parent-teacher conferences that day, while faculty for grades 6-12 will have a training opportunity.

The only change in the second semester calendar is that Tuesday, April 8, 2008, is now a half day for all students (K-12).

Please note that half-day dismissal time for both Apalachin and Owego elementary schools will change to 12:15 p.m. (it has previously been 11:45 a.m.). This new dismissal schedule provides a "real time" half day of school. Dismissal times for Owego Free Academy and Owego Apalachin Middle School will remain the same.

Also note that lunch will be served to the elementary school students, but not to the high school or middle school students.
