Flood Mitigation Work Under Way
(NOVEMBER 19, 2013) - Beginning today, the roadway around the OFA soccer pitch was closed, and will remain closed throughout the OES construction project. A gate was installed Monday. Signage and barricades will be in place. Lend Lease has confirmed the traffic pattern changes again on Monday with the district’s Transportation Department, according to Paul Kirk, construction supervisor.
NYSEG’s subcontractor, DDS, is on site today to start gas line relocation. They anticipate being on site for no more than four to five days. During relocation, gas to the high school will not be affected. Traffic controls will be in place when the contractor is crossing Sheldon Guile Boulevard and traffic will not be affected.
Another contractor (Smith) started pushing top soil on Monday and will continue for the next few days. This contractor will use off-road trucks to move topsoil to the blacktop where soil will be loaded into over-the-road trucks. This will help to prevent mud from being tracked out onto Sheldon Guile Boulevard.
Perimeter fences will be in place by the end of this week.
