Hazard Mitigation Planning is a Countywide Effort
Fifteen municipalities, four school districts (including Owego Apalachin) and Tioga County are all working to update the County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. To help inform and engage the public and other local and regional stakeholders in the planning process, the county has developed a hazard mitigation planning Web site, which you can access by clicking here.
This site includes an online hazards awareness and preparedness survey, and now includes sections of the Draft Plan for review. The public is encouraged to visit the site, take the online survey, review the Draft Plan and provide input to the planning process.
For more information, contact Wendy Walsh at the Tioga County Soil and Water Conservation District by sending her an e-mail, or by calling (607) 687-3553.
