Dear Owego Apalachin School Community,
I’d first like to thank everyone for helping with a successful start to the school year. We couldn’t do what we do without the hard work of everyone in this district and we’re grateful for your partnership. In that spirit, I am writing to ask for your help in two ways:
1. We’re very excited to be looking towards the future by building on our tradition of excellence. The district is beginning a strategic planning process that takes into account what is working, what we’d like to improve on and how everyone in our school community feels about the work. We need your input so that we can make the best plans for our district. Please tell us what you think we are doing well and what we can improve on. We would also like to know what you think we should be considering for the future. Our plans will be based on your feedback. 2. Over the coming months, the board and leadership team will be using your feedback for discussions and planning with volunteers from all groups in our school community.
During the first week of November, we will be convening a group of stakeholders to review the feedback from the exchange above and to brainstorm ideas for how we can keep growing and improving as a district. This committee of staff, parents, and community members will join us in identifying what we should be doing to meet our goals for the priorities identified by the community.
