Owego Apalachin Middle School entered three teams into the Broome-Tioga BOCES’ Engineering Day competition. Every year, Engineering Day requires students to incorporate certain items into a working Rube Goldberg Machine. The machines are judged based on different criteria, including the number of steps, use of the selected items, length of time and success of the machine without any assistance. The OA team of Kylie Grippen, Amanda Ramey, Carsten Crawford, Mia Hall and Carissa Chandler came in first place out of more than fifty participating teams.
