OACSD FEATURED IN HUNGER SOLUTIONS NY BREAKFAST REPORT

The Owego Apalachin Central School District was featured in the 2019 NYS School Breakfast Report as we’ve seen a significant growth in our school breakfast participation over the last year. The goal of the program is to provide a free and convenient breakfast to students in grades K-8, right at the beginning of their academic day, also referred to as ‘Breakfast After the Bell’. In the 2017-18 School year, OA implemented the Breakfast After the Bell program and since then, have seen a 114% increase in free & reduced-price school breakfast participation, 470 additional students eating breakfast each day and now 81% of our free & reduced-price eligible students are now eating breakfast at school.
