Owego, NY – March 6, 2025 – Owego Free Academy (OFA) is proud to announce that diver Kaelyn Katchuk will be continuing her athletic and academic career at Boston University, where she will join their Swimming & Diving team.
Kaelyn, a standout diver for OFA, will major in Human Physiology at Boston University.
Among her numerous accomplishments, Kaelyn has earned five consecutive Class B Sectional Titles (2020-2025), a historic feat as the first diver in sectional history to achieve this milestone. She is also a two-time NISCA 1m All-American (2023, 2024), a first for OFA. Additionally, Kaelyn has been named NISCA Academic All-American for 2025 and holds the Section 4 6-dive (346.46 points) and 11-dive (612.85 points) records – the first diver in Section 4 to surpass the 600-point mark.
Kaelyn's other impressive honors include being named Binghamton Press & Sun Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Year in 2024 and 2025, as well as qualifying for the NYS Championships five times and medaling four times (2021-2024). Her highest finish was 6th place at the state level.
Kaelyn has also broken multiple pool records across various locations, including Owego, Susquehanna Valley, Chenango Forks, Watkins Glen, Elmira, Windsor, and Waverly. Her unbeaten record in duel meets since 2019 (51-0) and her 11-dive pool records in Owego, Watkins Glen, Maine Endwell, and Elmira further cement her legacy as one of the most accomplished divers in the area.
