Good Afternoon OA School Community,
We wanted to share that Owego Free Academy will be holding a distracted driving simulation in conjunction with the Owego Fire Department, Owego Police Department, and other local agencies tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1st. The presentation to OFA Juniors and Seniors will be at 1:00 pm in the OFA student parking lot. This event is being organized by Emma Roden and Becca Hawkins, both OFA graduates, and first responders.
We wanted our entire School Community to be aware of the presentation that will include various emergency vehicles, including a helicopter that will land on campus. We understand that having many first responders arriving at OFA in the middle of the school day may raise questions and concerns for those unaware that a simulation is happening.
Please understand that this is not a public event. It is specifically designed for our High School Students to reinforce the importance of safe driving practices as we head into Prom and Graduation season.
Feel free to contact the OFA main office with any questions.
