The Tioga Arts Council (TAC) recently announced the opening of its Tioga County High School Student Exhibition. The show features 21 pieces of work from OFA students. The show opens on Friday, May 5, and is open to the public from 5-8 p.m. Artwork will be displayed in both the main and youth galleries at 179 Front St. in Owego. There will be a lifeguard course meeting on Thursday, May 4th, at the Pool during Goal Period to discuss the following.
Lifeguard course June 26-July 2.
The course Schedule is as follows:
June 26 – June 30: 3 pm-6 pm
July 1 – July 2: 8 am-4 pm
The prerequisites are as follows:
-Must be a strong swimmer.
-Must have reached their 15th birthday by the end of the course.
-300 yard swim, nonstop, in a strong manner using either front crawl or breaststroke.
-20 yard swim, brick retrieval at a depth of 9 feet, and 20-yard swim while holding the brick out of the water.
-2 minute tread water with hands out of the water.
Please email lounsberryk@oacsd.org and let me know if you would like to attend this meeting. There will be a course signup sheet with your information at the meeting. If the Goal period does not work, I will remain in the pool from 3:30-4. If you have after-school sports, please try to work it out with your coach to attend.
