Apalachin Elementary

Due to the solar eclipse, the Owego Apalachin Central School District will use a modified early release schedule on Monday, April 8, 2024. We are not in the path of totality, but we will be able to see a partial eclipse in our area (see the links below for more information). With proper eye protection and weather permitting, the phases of the Moon passing between the Earth and the Sun can be witnessed in our area between 2:30 and 4:30 pm. To be as cautious as possible, we will dismiss students early enough to ensure they are all home before this eclipse peak period and allow them to experience the event at home with their families. On April 8th, 2024, our district will run on a modified schedule with the following dismissal times: Owego and Apalachin Elementary Schools will dismiss students at Noon. There will be NO after-school program. Owego Apalachin Middle School and Owego Free Academy will dismiss students at 1:30 pm. After-school activities will be communicated separately to those students/families involved. Students will be provided breakfast and lunch at school on this day.
