Transportation Update for OES & AES:
Good Afternoon Families,
We would like to remind those that use district transportation about a couple of important items that will assist with keeping our buses on schedule.
At this point our morning bus pick-ups are becoming consistent and families should have a good feel for when the bus will arrive. Please make sure that your child is at the bus stop and ready to get on when the bus arrives.
For after school drop-off for PreK-5th Grade students, an adult must be out and present at the bus stop for our school bus drivers to pass custodial care over. The bus driver will not release a student unsupervised.
Families can notify the bus garage in writing if they will allow for their elementary student to be dropped off without an adult visible at the bus stop in the afternoon.
With our elementary bus runs happening in a very tight window before the middle and high school runs, any delay will then also affect the OAMS/OFA routes and will cause those students to subsequently be late.

BOE Update:
The Board of Education meeting scheduled for Monday, September 27, 2021 has been canceled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021.

OA Transportation Update:
Good Afternoon,
The OA Transportation Department is working hard to address the delays that several of our bus routes have been experiencing over the first few days of school. There are multiple factors that are impacting the timing of our routes and we are actively working through them all. One of the items that you as a family could help us with, would be to communicate directly with the bus garage if your child won’t be using district transportation. Our drivers continue to stop at many houses on their routes where students haven’t come out to ride the bus. As you can imagine, even brief delays waiting for students that never come out, adds on unnecessary time to routes and any adjustment that can be made will help in the end. If families can commit to NOT using the buses, this would be something that could help us decrease our route time. Please call the bus garage and let us know as soon as possible. (607) 687-7305.
If your circumstances change and you would like to start using district transportation again, that can be fixed with a phone call at any time.
We are asking families to take the time to think through their transportation needs and contact us with any adjustments that can be made.
