Owego Apalachin Central School District 2024-2025 School Budget Vote and Board of Education Election Results Tuesday, May 21, 2024
Voters in the Owego Apalachin Central School District on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, voted to approve the district’s proposed 2024-2025 school budget of $57,879,272. The budget had a tax levy increase of 1.99 percent.
The final vote was:
Yes: 758
No: 342
In the second proposition, voters approved the purchase of 5 school buses by the following count:
Yes: 811
No: 287
In the third proposition, voters approved the district’s proposed Capital Project of $28,500,000.

Congratulations to our Owego Free Academy student-athletes, Evan O’Hara, Riley Loomis, and Madison McEvoy, who were named to the 2023-24 winter high school sports Elite All-Star teams.
Selections were made for boys basketball, girls basketball, boys wrestling, boys and girls indoor track & field, boys swimming & diving, and boys and girls bowling.
More than 80 athletes earned Elite accolades from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Corning Leader, and Ithaca Journal.
Elite selections were chosen predominantly based on voting from coaches, with some input from the sports departments of the papers.

Owego Free Academy is proud to announce the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2024. Ruben Lemmon has earned the distinction of Valedictorian. Ruben will be attending Cornell University to study Physics. Kathryn Donnelly-Taylor is the Salutatorian. Kathryn will be attending Cornell University - College of Agriculture and Life Science to study Animal Science.
The district is very proud of Ruben and Kathryn’s commitment to excellence in their academic and extracurricular activities. We wish them all the best as they look to continue their education. Congratulations!
