The Owego Apalachin Central School District Food Service Program is pleased to announce that all district schools will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) grant program during the 2023-2024 school year.
Beginning the first day of school (September 7, 2023), EVERY STUDENT ENROLLED IN THE DISTRICT will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day regardless of the family’s household income.
Students can purchase additional items. Families can add funds to their “EZSchoolPay” account by cash or check in any dollar amount with the Food Service Staff (please make checks payable to Owego Apalachin Central School District) or by using the EZSchoolPay Web site or App. *The website/app does charge a service fee for credit card payments.
As part of the program, families are asked to complete a CEP Household Income Eligibility Form, which can be found online. This is not mandatory, however, completion of this form (https://5il.co/205zg) will help the District maximize the amount of state and federal aid that it receives, thereby maximizing resources available to students. It also could qualify some students for additional services, such as discounted or free college courses and college applications at the high school level.
Menus can be found on our website and OA app under dining and on the RockOn Cafe Food & Nutrition page here: https://www.rockoncafe.org/owego-apalachin_home.aspx

If your child is eligible for Kindergarten (his/her birthday falls ON or BEFORE 12/1/2018) for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, you must register your child with your school building, either Owego Elementary School or Apalachin Elementary School, as soon as possible.
Registration forms, the health certificate, and other information can be obtained from the following sources:
OACSD website - https://www.oacsd.org/o/oe/page/upk-k-registration
Apalachin Elementary School, 405 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin
Owego Elementary School, 2 Sheldon Guile Blvd., Owego
Children who will be five years old on or before 12/1/23 are eligible to enter Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year. All registered children get screened in speech, language, vision, hearing, fine motor, and gross motor skills. This screening is required by the New York State Department of Education and will help us identify your child's particular needs.
In addition to the registration form, you will need: a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization record (polio, measles, diphtheria, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B), two forms of proof of residency, and the health certificate signed by your child’s physician.
Registration before the beginning of school is essential, as it enables the school to estimate the time needed for school readiness screening, classes, and transportation needs. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for school visitation before the opening session in the fall.
If you have questions regarding Registration, please contact your child’s building directly or reach out using Let’s Talk! - https://www.oacsd.org/page/lets-talk.

OA Youth Field Hockey is accepting registration for the upcoming season for students in K-6th grade. Get more information here: https://5il.co/209jv. Register online here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf2zfQkbv6lsA1cjVceGkvOtjyRbe_bXSERQApSNoDfFyJClg/viewform?pli=1

OA UPDATE: The OFA student mascot advisory committee has reviewed potential mascot names submitted by the school community.
Following the first rebranding poll, the committee reviewed the data and information from roughly 1,000 responses. The committee has narrowed down the larger group of potential mascot names to those on the polling form below. This is not a vote that will result in a final winner. This is another opportunity for the entire school community to provide their thoughts on potential names and provide potential logo design thoughts/inspiration. If you have other questions, please contact us through Let's Talk! - https://www.oacsd.org/page/lets-talk
The Google form poll requires an email to ensure that a real person is answering the questions one time only. Your email will not be viewable by any of the committee members. The Google form will be open through Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Participate in the Poll by clicking here: https://forms.gle/CtCRXbBMKBqzzndf6
