The Apalachin Elementary School Mathalon team competed against 5th-grade teams from Tioga County, and they officially brought home FIRST PLACE! 🥇
The competition consisted of five fast-paced, high-pressure rounds. It was a literal "math marathon" that came down to a thrilling, nail-biting tie-breaker round against Waverly.

As we enter the 2026-2027 budget season, we want to provide opportunities for the entire school community to stay informed, not only on the school budget, but also on the significant change in our district’s tax base as the Stagecoach Pipeline & Storage Company LLC (formerly CNYOG) Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) agreement has expired.
Tonight, Monday, March 9, 2026, the Board of Education will hold a workshop after the regularly scheduled BOE meeting at 6 pm, for the Initial Review of the 2026-2027 Proposed School Budget. This meeting is open to the public to view in-person, or on the live stream, on our YouTube Channel here: https://www.youtube.com/live/Rg2lflTn_Z8.

Can you believe it? We are officially approaching our 100th Day of School! To celebrate this milestone, we are inviting all students to have a little fun with their wardrobe.
When: Wednesday, February 18, 2026
The Challenge: We would love to see our students dress up like they are 100 years old! Costume Ideas: Think cardigans, suspenders, floral prints, non-prescription glasses, or even some "silver" hair. While we encourage everyone to participate, the most important thing is that your child is comfortable and ready to learn.
We can’t wait to see all the "centenarians" walking the halls of Apalachin Elementary. Thank you for making these first 100 days so wonderful!

ICYMI: It’s official! 🎉 The FY26 Agriculture Appropriations bill was signed into law, securing $811,000 for the Tioga Regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center!
We want to extend a massive thank-you to Senator Chuck Schumer and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for their support and for championing this investment in our students and our community’s future.
The funds secured by the Senators will allow us to expand our partnership with Broome-Tioga BOCES and transform the Owego Apalachin campus into a hub for workforce development. This funding will provide local students with hands-on training in high-demand fields right here at home.
